Limu (Hawaiian seaweeds) with Uncle Wally!

Join Uncle Wally from Kuaʻāīna Ulu ʻAumo as he teaches us about commonly and not so commonly found limu (seaweed). He'll also share a story or two about them as well as Hawaiian names. Wally Ito has been a spearfisherman since the age of eight and has witnessed the decline of the nearshore fishery over a 50-year period. At the age of 51, Wally returned to school to finish a BS in Marine Biology from Hawaiʻi Pacific University. Today, he is passionate about limu, its important role in the nearshore marine environment and its role in the Hawaiian culture.
